There is something truly magical about watching a family interact surrounded by blooming nature. For this recent Fall session, we headed to the beautiful Birmingham Botanical Gardens in Mountain Brook, Alabama.
As a Birmingham family photographer, I am always thrilled when clients choose this location. It offers an incredible variety of backdrops, from lush, sun-drenched pathways to vibrant, seasonal floral displays. I enjoy photographing families at the Birmingham Botanical Gardens from April through early November every year. Late November through March can tend to not have as much color.
Capturing Sweet Milestones in the Garden
For this session, I had the joy of photographing a wonderful family of five. They brought along their sweet girls who filled the entire evening with laughter, energy, and personality.
The best family portraits come from genuine connection. Instead of stiff posing, we focused on movement, play, and joy. Some of my favorite frames from the day are the candid moments:
- Parents taking turns interacting with each girl
- Watching them run and play and enjoy their surroundings
