Pregnancy is a season you’ll only get to experience a handful of times in your life — and it deserves to be documented in a way that feels as soft, glowing, and beautiful as it actually is. As a Birmingham maternity photographer, I specialize in light and airy studio sessions: soft window light and a neutral space that’s designed to make you feel like the most radiant version of yourself.
If you’ve been searching for Birmingham maternity photography that feels timeless rather than trendy, you’re in the right place.

Not all maternity photography looks the same, and studio style matters more than most people realize going in. Here’s what sets a light and airy approach apart:

A maternity session can feel like a big deal to plan for, especially on top of everything else pregnancy brings. Here’s how the experience unfolds from booking to gallery delivery:
Most clients book their Birmingham maternity photography session as soon as they find out they’re expecting, since studio time is limited each month. The ideal window for maternity portraits is 28–32 weeks, when your bump is full and rounded but you’re still comfortable moving easily.
We’ll talk through gown options, colors, and styling ahead of time. My studio wardrobe includes a curated selection of flowing maternity gowns so you don’t have to stress over finding “the dress” yourself unless you want to.
Show up, get comfortable, and let the light do the work. I’ll guide you through simple, flattering poses — solo portraits, partner shots, and sweet moments with older siblings if you’d like them included. No experience in front of the camera required.
Within 2 weeks, you’ll receive a beautifully edited online gallery to relive, share, and choose your favorites from — the kind of images you’ll want printed and hung on your wall.

Outdoor and in-home maternity sessions have their own charm, but a light and airy studio setting offers a few distinct advantages:
Based right here in the Birmingham area, I love working with growing families throughout the metro — including Hoover, Vestavia Hills, Mountain Brook, Homewood, and surrounding communities. Whether this is your first pregnancy or you’re adding to your family, my studio offers a warm, welcoming space to slow down and celebrate this season before life gets wonderfully busy again.

When is the best time to schedule a maternity session? Most clients book between 28 and 34 weeks of pregnancy — your bump is well-defined, and you’re generally still comfortable posing for an hour or so.
What should I wear? Soft, flowing gowns in neutral tones photograph beautifully against a light and airy backdrop. I offer a client wardrobe you’re welcome to use, and we’ll talk through options during your planning call.
Can my partner or other children be part of the session? Absolutely. Many of my favorite images come from partner and sibling moments woven throughout the session — we’ll plan time for solo portraits and family shots together.
How long does a maternity session take? Typically 30 minutes to 1 hour depending on the package you choose.
How far in advance should I book? I recommend booking as soon as you know your due date, since maternity sessions fill up quickly and need to happen within a fairly narrow window.
How much does a session cost? Please find my full pricing list here.
This is a chapter of your story worth slowing down for. Let’s create soft, glowing portraits that celebrate your pregnancy exactly as it is.
