There is nothing quite like the first few weeks of a new baby’s life. The tiny details, the soft stretches, and the quiet, overwhelming love that fills the room are moments that pass by far too quickly. As a Homewood newborn photographer, my goal is to freeze these fleeting days in time, creating timeless, luxury portraits that families will cherish for generations.
Recently, I had the absolute joy of welcoming a beautiful growing family into the studio for a newborn session that perfectly highlighted what I love most about this work: simplicity, pure focus on the baby, and the magical, unpredictable bonds of siblings.

When it comes to newborn portraiture, my signature style is deeply rooted in minimalism. I love a clean, simple, all-white aesthetic because it ensures that the sole focus of every single image remains exactly where it belongs—on your sweet baby.
For this session, we utilized soft white wraps, a little pink here and there, and a neutral, uncluttered backdrop. By stripping away heavy props, bright colors, and distracting setups, the focus shifts entirely to the baby’s unique features. Every tiny eyelash, the soft swirl of hair on their head, those delicate little fingers, and the perfect, peaceful expressions of a sleeping newborn are captured without distraction.
This timeless approach ensures that your artwork will never feel dated. Whether displayed on your walls today or passed down to your children decades from now, these portraits remain elegant, refined, and deeply personal.

Bringing an older sibling into a newborn session is always one of my favorite elements of a shoot, but as any parent knows, it can also bring a bit of unpredictability! Every child is unique, and my priority is ensuring a calm, stress-free environment where authentic connections can naturally unfold.
Sometimes, kids need a little extra time to warm up to the camera or take a break. But during this particular session, we experienced the sweetest surprise.
This beautiful family was blessed with a baby girl and an older big sister and big brother. From the very moment we set up the sibling portraits, it was clear that big sister was already entirely smitten. Often, sibling photos require a lot of gentle coaxing, playfulness, and quick timing to capture a split-second smile. But this proud big sister had her own plans—she completely refused to leave her baby sisters side! When she wasn’t involved in a photo she was happily watching closeby. You can see big brother is happy to be in a few pictures but he loved playing with the toys in the adjacent sitting room when he wasn’t needed.

Big siblings always get time for portraits of themselves.
The way the siblings doted on baby sisters was a beautiful reminder of why lifestyle and studio newborn photography is so vital—it captures the genuine joy and the real, emotional foundation of your shifting family dynamics.

If you are expecting a new addition to your family, I would love to help you design a low stress portrait experience. From safety-trained handling to an elegant, minimalist approach, your little one will be cared for with the utmost intention.
Let’s connect to secure your spot on the studio calendar and begin planning a session designed around your family’s unique story.
