Should you choose and indoor or outdoor photography session?
I have found families with young children photograph best outdoors in wide open spaces. My favorite locations are open fields. This allows young children plenty of space to move around. Indoor sessions often take place in spaces that make children feel constricted.
If your maternity session does not include young children your home or my studio are great locations, especially when the Alabama heat is too much for an outdoor session.
What type of photography session should you choose in Birmingham AL?
There are so many beautiful, outdoor locations to have your family photographed along with choosing studios and in-home sessions. Newborn sessions are best photographed indoors in a controlled environment. These sessions can take place in your home or in my studio. When photographing a family with young children wide open, outdoor spaces with plenty of room to roam are my go to. These will always be my first suggestion as children do not like to be contained. My favorite location in Vestavia (shown below) is usually void of most distractions and allows plenty of room to roam.
What is included with your Vestavia Maternity Photography session?
Your session includes as much or as little wardrobe help as you would like. For instance, all sessions include a session guide, shopping assistance, retailer suggestions to shop from and a wardrobe for mom’s and girls to choose from.
All on-location sessions with me include immediate family and pets with the option to add extended family. All family and newborn sessions include a minimum of 30-40 images for download. You may print these at your preferred lab or through your gallery. Prints purchased through me are backed by my quality guarantee.
What can you expect during your session?
During your session you will be given suggestions to help create natural smiles and fun moments. We will take time for the “everybody looking at the camera” images but most of your session will be focused on interaction. I love to include family, sibling, and couple portraits, along with individuals of mom and children. My absolute favorite portraits during family session are the child/parent portraits. These are almost always the best way to capture your children’s personalities and the bond they have with you.
My goal is to make sure everybody looks their best while, also, having fun.
