As a Hoover AL Family Photographer 1st birthday sessions are some of my favorite.
What do I wear during an outdoor session?
Light colored clothing, like whites and pastels work best with my style. Clothing that is comfortable is just as important as how pretty it looks. I suggest choosing items that you can move freely in and don’t bunch up or fall down.
Mom chose a beautiful gown for baby girl that grandma bought for her. The white dressed paired perfectly with the green grass for great contrast. We really couldn’t have asked for a better morning other than it being a little cooler. It’s hard to get away from that heat in the summer in Alabama even when you come out for a sunrise photo session.
I love it when dads get dressed up alongside mom. Long pants in neutral colors help dress up the session and focus your attention upward. Shorts and short sleeve shirts tend to draw our attention away from the face. Jackets are a nice way to add layers and are flattering for most men. Men’s Wearhouse always has a great selection of photo appropriate clothing for dad’s.
How do we prepare our little ones?
As a Hoover AL Family Photographer capturing your little ones personalities is a must during your session. Sometimes, however, little ones are hesitant to participate or take a while to warm up.
Before your session I suggest making sure they’re well fed and rested. Another great thing to do is arrive to the session location 10-15 minutes ahead of time. This will allow young children time to get used to their surroundings.
Individual child/parent images are almost always my favorite images at a session. Children really come alive when they’re given the chance to snuggle and have fun with a parent individually. I love to capture everything from snuggles to tickles and anything that makes your bond unique.
